House Baratheon's doctrine of heavy weapons and even heavier armor more than fulfills the goal of turning its troops into walking fortresses. Because of this, and also because defeating them by assault is difficult and underestimating them can be deadly, the enemies of the Baratheon find themselves in a bind when they charge against them, especially if their lines have halberdiers because these nullify the traditional inferiority of the majority of infantry units versus horse troops. Furthermore, cavalry or any other flanking troops who hesitate to charge into Baratheon lines risk leaving gaps that a good commander can take advantage of. Thus, Baratheon commanders who incorporate halberdiers into their ranks will have at their disposal a variety of creative ways to destroy their enemies.
