Mephisto is an extradimensional being of immense power and intellect. He is also a mysterious and ever-present threat to all of humanity, biding his time and only striking when it suits him. From the fiery dimension, he spreads devious plans and evil pacts, binding the unwary into contracts that earn him their souls. His gift for manipulating humans has allowed him to strike deals with the likes of Norman Osborn and Peter Parker at times when they were on the downs, but such deals always benefit him at the expense of the other party.
