110 AD. The Roman Empire is at its peak, ruled by the Emperor “optimus princeps” Trajan. The borders are secure and attention is directed towards the empire’s interior, Rome.

Seize the opportunity and gain power! By choosing the best strategies you can tactically outmaneuver your opponents and ultimately achieve victory.

In Trajan, players will try to gain victory points by tactically choosing six different actions. The key to success is the optimal distribution of the markers in the action hexagon bowls. Players must perform certain actions at the right time. On the one hand, it is important to take advantage of opportunities that arise, such as getting the best tiles, but at the same time, players must not forget to make things difficult for their opponents in critical situations.

The game is played over four quarters, and each quarter consists of 4 rounds. On each player's turn, they will rearrange the action markers and move the time marker, execute a Trajan tile (if possible), and have the opportunity to perform an action. As the game progresses, all players must attend to the people's requests or lose valuable victory points. At the end of the game, players will score victory points for product cards, workers and legionaries, Trajan and bonus tiles, and completed building tile groups.
