In the hall of the Mountain King is an innovative game for 2-5 trolls that stands out for its depth and easy-to-learn mechanics. In it you will have to usurp territories, mass produce, and use magic and brute force… to deserve to be crowned King of the mountain!

The war happened several generations ago. We have been wandering the wilds since we were driven from our home under the mountain, leaving our skin behind and surviving the cold and dirt. But something has changed now, we feel it in our bones. Without the soul of our people to sustain it, the mountain has collapsed, thus fulfilling our revenge. Our enemies have fled and the ruins of the ancient halls call to us Trolls to return home. And so we will. Raising claws and hammers, we return home and our home will return to us!

As a respected leader, assemble a group of trolls from the Clans of Mud, Fire, Ice, and Moon; dig tunnels lined with stone, iron, and igneous rock; create spacious galleries in the form of large halls; unearth the statues of the ancients and return them, with the help of the clans, to their places of glory near the heart of the mountain. The wave of returning trolls will grow as we rebuild our kingdom, a process in which one figure will rise above the rest, a leader worthy of being crowned King of the Mountain!
